AIDA Cruises takes over new cruise ship AIDAcosma
The first trip starts on February 26th, 2022 // Christening ceremony in Hamburg on April 9th, 2022
On December 21, 2021, AIDA Cruises took over its newest cruise ship AIDAcosma in Bremerhaven from Meyer Werft in Papenburg. It is the company's second new building to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG) - currently the most advanced fuel in the shipping industry for reducing emissions.

With AIDAcosma and its sister ship AIDAnova, two of the most innovative cruise ships in the world are part of our fleet in terms of sustainable cruises as well as the very special guest experience and the variety of products. "
Guests can expect a variety of holiday experiences on board. One of the highlights is the ocean deck. This beautiful new area extends over four decks and offers all-round panoramic sea views. The extensive sun landscape invites you to sunbathe and chill out during the day and in the evening. The large infinity pool at the stern of the ship provides cooling.
Big and small guests get their money's worth on board - be it on the boulder wall, on the racer, climbing the rope towers or on the balance course. The new fun park with the large indoor playground offers a lot of variety.
The variety of connoisseurs is also enriched: In the Beach House Restaurant, light summer delicacies are served. The specialty restaurant Mamma Mia is also new and offers home-made pasta and fresh Italian cuisine with on-site service. The brewery receives an outside grill with a wonderful sea view.
In addition, AIDAcosma scores with the features popular by AIDAnova such as the Beach Club, the Theatrium with its 360 ° stage, the TV studio and the spacious Body & Soul Organic Spa. Guests are spoiled with culinary delights in 17 restaurants and 23 bars and cafes.
From the end of February, Hamburg will be the first “home port” for AIDAcosma. The first of a total of six metropolitan tours will start there on February 26, 2022. The 7-day cruises can now be booked.
On April 9, 2022, the exceptional athlete Kristina Vogel will ceremoniously christen the new ship in Hamburg. Guests on the christening voyage towards the Mediterranean that will start afterwards can experience this special event on board. The two-week baptism trip, including the baptism ceremony, can also be booked immediately and takes you either to Mallorca (until April 23, 2022) or Barcelona (until April 22, 2022).
Other highlights of the route include Lisbon, Cádiz and Malaga. More details about the christening event will be announced shortly.
AIDAcosma will be offering trips from Palma and Barcelona from April 23 to October 15, 2022. The one-week highlight route “Mediterranean Treasures” also includes Florence, Rome and Corsica. In autumn she sets course for her sunny winter home in Dubai.
